Overview

High profile, blue chip business is looking for a bright, intelligent qualified (ACA or ACCA) Financial Accountant to join them on a one year fixed term contract basis. This role has a strong payroll focus and requires someone who has a good understanding of accounting for payroll costs.

About You

A fully qualified Financial Accountant (ACA / ACCA), you should have a strong technical accounting background.

You should have a high level of IT literacy including advanced Excel.

Your experience will have been gained within either a well known, corporate business or a Top 10 accountancy firm.

The job requires a candidate who has a good understanding of accounting for payroll costs.

You should be looking to join a corporate, blue chip business in a busy, varied role. Ideally you will be available on a maximum of a two week notice period.

About The Role

The successful candidate will join the busy, growing finance department of a large, blue chip business.

The role will be recruited on a one year Fixed Term contract basis.

Duties will include:

• Acting as the key finance contact for their outsourced payroll provider
• Ensuring a smooth working relationship with the outsourced provider and ensuring that deadlines are met
• Reviewing the UK and overseas payrolls prior to authorisation
• Preparing and posting the UK and overseas payroll journals
• Maintaining the associated P&L and Balance Sheet payroll reconciliations
• Producing headcount cost report on a monthly basis
• Ad hoc payroll reporting duties as necessary
• Maintaining records and accounting for operating and finance leases
• Preparing the VAT return
• Preparing reconciliations of the Balance Sheet accounts
• Responsibility for accounting for, and liaising with, overseas subsidiary
• Assisting with the preparation of the consolidated month end financial reporting pack
• Other financial accounting duties as required

It requires someone bright, intelligent and formally qualified with a strong hands on financial accounting experience gained within a well known commercial business or Top 10 accountancy practice.
