Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Accountant to join a local not for profit organisation as a Finance Manager. The post holder will be a member of the senior finance team and will contribute to matters of Financial Policy, procedures and strategic business planning.
Core Responsibilities:
* Provide support within the group in relation to any operational financial matter from budgeting matters to prospective bids.
* To act as a finance champion to operational staff and provide an effective link between the operational and strategic level with regards to any financial matters.
* Prepare & Present monthly management accounts and analysis to senior management team including variance analysis, performance reports, project appraisals, long term cashflows, sensitivity analysis and any other ad-hoc reports.
* Recording and reporting on generally accepted accounting principles, financial reporting standards, relevant SORPS and best accounting practice.
* Assisting the Group Director of Finance and other Senior Financial staff in reviewing and developing accounting systems, controls and procedures.
* Setting up and progressing computer systems, utilising spreadsheets, database and report generation, contributing to the development of management information systems.
* Collating and organising information for submission to the Group Audit Committee and Group Board.
* To liaise with other senior staff throughout the Group in order to ensure that the provision of financial information is relevant, timely and accurate.
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), have experience of accounts production, VAT return preparation, preparation of budgets, preparation of business plans and experience with an integrated computerised accounting system. The role also requires supervision of a small team so experience of staff management is highly desirable.
Remuneration Package available in addition to salary.
