Finance Manager

The successful applicant will work as part of the Finance Team based in Portsmouth and be responsible for managing a busy team comprising of AR/AP/Reconciliation teams and several Part/Qual accountants. This is the ideal role for someone who is an experienced hands-on Finance Manager looking to continue their career in a challenging role within a fast changing environment.  The job plays an integral role in ensuring the monthly management accounts and MI Reporting are accurate, reviewed and submitted within deadline. The Finance Manager will assist the Finance Director with continual review and improvement of all processes within the team.  

Duties will include:

• Manage, develop and assist team members giving clear direction
• Co-ordinate timely preparation of Monthly accounts and reports
• Review and approval of all Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Ensuring all accounting entries comply with all Tax requirements , Review and some preparation of VAT/Insurance returns
• Co-ordinate quarterly SOX testing and continual monitoring of controls
• Represent team at on all project meetings and ensure finance requirements are met
• Liaise with external auditors and advisors

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with strong leadership and change management skills. Experience of working in a multi-company, multi-currency environment would be an advantage. Strong MS Office and Finance software skills are a pre-requisite as well as a full understanding of accounting principles.  Flexible attitude and ability to work to tight deadlines is essential as well as being organised.
