Job Description
Retail Accountant -essentially a finance business partnering role to provide financial and business support to a portfolio of new, pending and existing retailers. This varied role will involve:
• Collating, analysing and benchmarking of Retailer accounts
• Providing Book Keeping Training and support to Retailers
• Installing accounting packages for Retailers and providing basic systems training
• Providing financial planning models to assist decision making
• Negotiate with 3rd party service providers on behalf of retailers (banks, insurance)
• Continuous improvements of key processes (KPI models, Budgeting)
• Assist retailers to produce regular and accurate accounts
• Conduct analysis of the outlets in your portfolio by store type
This role requires solid accounts experience coupled with excellent communication skills in order to successfully mentor the retailers in your portfolio. As a Retail Accountant you will need to develop good working relationships with the Sales teams, Business Development team as well as the Banks, Solicitors and third party Accountants.
You must be a fully qualified accountant with at least 1 years PQE and hold a full driving license. Candidates with experience gained in a retail environment may have an advantage but this is not essential. If you are an accountant and feel you have a flair for developing people and business opportunities then this could be what you are looking for. This position is being offered on a 12 fixed term contract starting asap. Interviews are due to take place early in January.
