An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst to join reed.co.uk, the UK’s number one job site on a 6 month fixed term contract.
Revenue generation is receiving a great deal of focus within reed.co.uk. This new role has been developed within the business to assist in providing the required level of attention to the short and long term management of this priority area. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to deliver insightful financial analysis to the rest of the business.This role provides excellent insight into the core commercial activities of reed.co.uk and reports to the Finance Manager.
Principle Accountabilities
Management Information
-To support the Finance Manager in delivering management information to Sales Managers.Assist with preparation of reports detailing individual sales person performances each period.
-Production of weekly/periodical reports summarising sales activity. Ad hoc support to channel finance team.Other weekly/periodical production of essential KPIs. Forecast modelling.
Reconciliations and analysis
-Ensuring that key balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a period basis and that all balances can be justified (prepayments, accruals etc). Providing analysis of key balance sheet accounts.
Working with stakeholders
-Quickly escalating issues when it is recognised that errors are continually reoccurring.Develop relationships with key organisational stakeholders and internal Finance teams.Devise and implement new ways of working in order to maximise stakeholder interaction and understanding of MI processes and policies. Following up requests for information from stakeholders in a timely fashion.
Systems/Process
-Providing consultative support for the development of new systems and processes.Making sure that business systems are aligned across the business. Continuous analysis of processes within finance and proactively offering alternative proposals to improve these processes.Working closely with key stakeholders to ensure that current processes capture and represent accurate data and information.
Training
-Communicating new processes and process changes to the UK and Malta finance teams and management.
Key Performance Indicators
Weekly and Period End
-Produce accurate and timely MI reports to external and internal stakeholders. To be aware of and adhere to current accounting (financial and management) best practice. Demonstrate a good understanding of the financial position of the organisation at all times. Provide detailed analysis of sales issues. Other reports.Report on key sales KPIs. Work with revenue channel teams to add insight to sales activity.
Forecast and Account Planning
-Work with the relevant managers to ensure a full understanding of each forecast cycle. Develop and maintain financial guidelines for sales activity to support the long term business strategy. Ensure robust financial guidelines are communicated for key sales activity
Projects
-Develop sales insights fact base and communicate emerging trends. Support Finance Analyst on ad hoc projects. Work with channel teams to ensure post-evaluation learning is incorporated into future business activities.
Qualifications
-Educated to degree level or equivalent. Acquired or studying towards relevant financial qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or similar
Experience
-A proven and demonstrable record of experience in accounts. Experience of using Excel at work/through studies. Previous financial modelling experience desirable.
Knowledge
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, v-lookups, sumifs etc). SAP and Oracle knowledge is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of VBA and Microsoft Access desirable. Excellent attention to detail. Good organisational and time management skills. Ability to produce timely and accurate information in a pressurised environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
