About this role
To assist the Actuarial Reporting area in the collation and interpretation of numerical data for prediction of future activities through different methods and models, to support the business.
- Develop detailed spread sheet models to consolidate information and provide analysis using the models
- Perform simple financial calculations (e.g. compound interest, simple projections)
- Check & validate figures, data and information for accuracy and comprehensiveness
- Contribute to projects within the department to achieve defined business improvements, co-ordinate small projects.
- Contribute to the analysis of business decisions to ensure that they are soundly based
- Collect, challenge and verify data from financial systems and the business for use in financial planning and analysis
- Work with colleagues to produce detailed projections for senior managers in the actuarial reporting area
Skills, knowledge and behaviour
- 'A’ level Maths (at grade A or B) or equivalent
- Educated to degree level (maths related) or experience in a financial environment
- Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel
- Numerical and communication skills
- Reasonable corporate & product knowledge is desirable
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Problem-solving/process improvement experience
- Understanding of regulatory framework within which products processed
