Accident Exchange is one of the largest accident management companies in Europe.

Working under the ABI General Terms of Agreement, we offer motorists involved in non-fault accidents a like-for-like replacement vehicle for the period that they are deprived of the use of their car.

In simple terms, we hire a replacement vehicle while we organise and manage the repairs to the vehicle on the customers behalf.  When the hire vehicle is returned to us, we pass the bill to the insurance company of the at fault driver.

We are presently looking to recruit a Field Based Invesitgator ,to provide a professional and efficient accident investigation service (specifically and solely for the Dedicated Debt Team) with the aim of tracing non-cooperative and astray parties.

 To assist with the effective recovery of debt against revenue targets.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To use an array of investigation techniques such as surveillance, internet searches, enquiries with neighbours and local businesses within the local community, review of claims data whilst liaising both over the phone and face to face with the appropriate populace  in order to trace non-cooperative and astray parties
  • To obtain comprehensive written statements from cooperative, non-cooperative and astray parties, in order to assist with the ongoing evaluation of debt recovery
  • To work closely with departments across the Company in particular; members of the Company’s Solicitor panel
  • To handle and manage enquiries and requests for documentation in relation to accident claims being managed by DDT
  • Plan and prioritise field based investigations as per an agreed work cycle ensuring visits are completed within a timely and appropriate manner and are an efficient use of time and resource
  • Produce daily updates and reports in accordance with the outcome of your investigations
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to all investigations to ensure a positive result is achieved
  • To maintain relationships with key business referrers and other stakeholders both internally and externally in order to ensure delivery against defined expectations
  • To spot and document issues/trends which impact the ability to recover the outstanding debt targets
  • Any other adhoc duties that may arise.

Candidates will possess or demonstrate the following:

  • You must have previous experience in field based investigation role and/or insurance investigations
  • Flexibility and understanding in your approach and behaviour when dealing with the numerous levels of modern society, diversity and culture
  • A 'can do attitude’ and a worker who will contribute to a dynamic environment          
  • Awareness of the legal framework in which the business operates
  • Ability to empathise and build relationships with all parties whilst alleviating fears they may have.
  • Clear verbal communication skills, persuasive and assertive with proven negotiation skills
  • Experienced in handling stressful, fragile & personal matters
  • The ability of putting individuals at ease in order to open dialogue and extrapolate information be it for reporting purposes or statement taking
  • Technical thinker in terms of systems and processes
  • Effective time management and organisational skills with ability to prioritise and recognise importance and urgency of workload
  • Detail conscious with a logical, problem solving thought process
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
