Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Management Technician ( Mechanical Craftsperson ) to join their team based in Ware. The successful candidate will report to and seek advice from the Operations Manager on all matters appertaining to operational issues, regulatory and statutory compliance. Apply mechanical skills in respect of maintenance, modifications and new works and in so doing provide a safe, efficient service to the company in compliance with recognised standards and regulations The Role of the Facilities Management Technician ( Mechanical Craftsperson ): Carry out work appropriate to core specialist skill and to use all relevant tools and equipment associated with all aspects of their work. Maintain a responsible attitude to work, be able to work unsupervised and apply technical and manual skills required to meet requirements of the contract when carrying out: Inspections, testing, planned maintenance, and modifications of systems, plant and equipment Investigate, diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical distribution systems, plant and equipment Install or assist in the installation and repair of piped services including but not restricted to steam, condensate, compressed air, vacuum, drainage, insulation, using a variety of materials, including steel, copper and plastic. Strip down, overhaul, set up and test pressure regulating and pressure relieving devices such as steam/air regulators and safety valves. Fabricate or repair miscellaneous supports, structures and items of equipment Add chemicals into various water systems and to operate and maintain such systems. Install new equipment and to relocate existing equipment throughout the site, including the loading and transportation of equipment Electrically and mechanically isolate equipment so that it is safe to work on. Withdraw and / or return materials and equipment from stores.
