Experienced Manager

My client is looking for an experienced manager, with a qualification in social work, to lead a team of dedicated Residential Family Assessment Workers. The successful candidate is expected to be committed to the support, development and training of staff in order to ensure the highest possible quality of service to families.

The Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day running of their unit which operates within the current legislative framework and is registered with Ofsted (in particular the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Working Together, Every Child Matters, the Framework for Assessment of Children in Need and the Care Standards Act 2000).

Family workers are required to create and maintain a nurturing and learning environment within the houses and contribute to assessments of families with complex needs. These assessments usually take three months and involve the monitoring, education and training of parents to enable them to understand the needs of their child and the impact their actions have on childhood development. As a result of the nature of the role, employees are sometimes required to give evidence in court.

The successful candidate will have worked with a diverse range of people from multi-cultural backgrounds and have experience in the support of children and parents.
