Estimator - Steel Fabrication

My client, a fabrication company based in Port Talbot are currently recruiting for an Estimator to join their growing team.

The ideal candidate will have a broadly-developed skillbase, preferably having a background in structural steelwork and general platework, having worked in a workshop or site environment.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Reading engineering drawings and interpreting specifications to determine customer requirements.
• Preparing material quantity lists
• Estimating Fabrication times taking into account material processing lead time and the project specification.
• Sourcing a variety of quotations for sub-contract services and evaluating contents of the quotations received
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with specifications and value for money.
• Liaising with clients to resolve any technical, programme and or commercial issues as required.
• Liaising with clients and design teams
• Negotiating and securing work, and enhancing various business relationships.

This role is on a temporary to permanent basis. The successful candidate will work the first 12 weeks through Fresh Recruitment with a view to being offered a permanent contract at the end of this period. A generous permanent salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate.
