The Aberdeen Office is looking for an ESTIMATOR within our Oil & Gas Sector to support a number of our Upstream Clients This commission involves working on strategically important projects which are high profile within the clients organisations. By the very nature of the projects you will be expected to deliver estimating activities/functions on site or in our offices for the client and form part of a team approach to project delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person with an experienced background in the Oil & Gas Sector, ideally subsea knowledge
Job Details
The Responsibilities
- Integrate with and provide an estimating role to multi-disciplined project teams, developing best practice with other colleagues providing similar roles on other client projects/site based locations.
- Develop existing estimating and benchmarking processes, procedures and capability.
- Review, evaluate, validate and report on existing estimates for projects within a portfolio.
- Perform and support project and programme reviews.
- Ensure the implementation of the client’s estimating procedures.
The Requirements
- A recognised diploma or degree in an engineering discipline or be qualified by experience.
- Expertise in all aspects of estimating.
- Understanding of and experience in the Industry Sector particularly Upstream Oil & Gas .
- If required able to both accept and delegate responsibility and influence and lead a team.
- A broad understanding of Risk Analysis.
- An ability to advise clients on all aspects of cost estimates and ranges of accuracy.
- Effective client interface skills and experience with the ability to offer both strategic and project advice.
- Knowledge of construction management and project management.
- Numerically confident to manage the day to day costs associated with running projects.
- Report writing and presentation skills.
- Good IT skills and the ability to operate Microsoft Office as a minimum.
- Flexible to be office or site based according to the needs of the business and client.
