Environment Health & Safety Coordinator required with immediate effect for my client based in Compton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global company within the healthcare industry.  The Compton site is an office based facility that includes field and home based workers.

Reporting to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager the role is responsible for the overall implementation of the EHS programme at the facility.

This role holds a high level of autonomy and duties will include:

  • Accident & Incident Management: Timely reporting of all incidents for Compton, field & home based workers to HSE and Corporate when required. Accurate records should also be maintained locally.
  • Occupational Health: Working with the Occupational Health Nurse, implement & maintain an active OH program
  • HIRA: Maintain a register of risk assessments to ensure they are all current, plan new / re-assessments as necessary (this includes off site activities such as driving, manual handling & homeworkers)
  • EHS Planning: Working with the NDC EHS Manager and Compton EHS team, compile annual EHS plan.
  • EHS Consultation: Chair EHS Team meetings and ensure minutes are documented & actions completed within agreed timeframes
  • EHS Documentation Management: Take responsibility to review SOP’s at least annually & update as & when needed.
  • EHS Metrics: Monthly reporting of all EHS data on the Corporate Insite reporting system & compiling KPI’s
  • EHS Reports: Provide monthly EHS progress reports to both NDC EHS Manager & Compton site Management team
  • Working with the facilities team to ensure the facility emergency systems are maintained &  tested to the relevant standards.
  • EHS Training: Compiling the annual EHS training plans and training sessions (both on-line & face to face). This will incoude follow up of such activities, with line managers, including driver training.
  • Ensure appropriate information is supplied to Corporate as & when required.
  • To be part of the UK EHS Team, working closely with other members of the companies EHS Personnel both in the UK & Europe.
  • Act as a source of information for other team members and recognise the need to pass on relevant information.
  • Maintain UK EHS web page.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility outlined above, as and when required. 

To be able to complete the role to the required standards, the right person must hold a minimum NEBOSH General Certificate qualification and be experienced in a similar role at coordinator / advisor level.
