ENGLISH TEACHER? PART-TIME ROLE- 4DAYS- COMMENCING AFTER HALF TERM - An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, imaginative and committed teacher to join a friendly, supportive and highly successful department after half term.

We have excellent standards of attainment with examination results, at all levels, well above the national average. Both English and English Literature are taught to the majority of students at GCSE.

A successful candidate will have experience of teaching English for at least 2 years in London schools and QTS.

The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to empathise and develop effective professional relationships with students of a broad range of backgrounds and a true passion for the subject and teaching. The departments runs 'takeout'/intervention at KS3/4 and due to the broad range of students this may involve teaching small classes of SEN/G+T learners for part of the timetable, typically this is taught on rotation.

You'll be responsible for teaching English across KS3 and KS4 and play a full role in the department which will include getting involved in current extracurricular schemes and creating your own resources as well as utilising those that already exist.

The successful candidate will:
- Be qualified with QTS - applicants without Qualified Teacher Status cannot be considered
- Excellent subject knowledge - demonstrated by degree.
- Have strong classroom management and an on-going commitment to Continuing Professional Development
- Excellent organisation and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of National Curriculum English specifications
- Previous experience of teaching English at GCSE and ideally Literature/Language at A-Level
- A passion for teaching and a genuine desire to help students of all backgrounds succeed
- A track record of effective teaching as evidenced by previous results
- relevant ICT skills
- The willingness to develop teaching skills, working as a team player and sharing best practice
- A willingness to be involved in the wider school community and extra-curricular activities

In line with our recruitment and safeguarding guidelines we will require a current CRB or you will be willing to complete a new application, you will be able to provide referee details and you will be eligible to work in the UK with a valid teaching qualification - applicants must have QTS.

These include:

- PGCE (Postgraduate certificate of education) inc. QTS
- GTP with QTS
- BEd with QTS

You may also hold a valid teaching qualification from overseas (e.g New Zealand/Australia) that has been assessed by UK Naric and have either gained your QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or be within your 4 year limit.
