Multi-billion pound manufacturer that supply high quality premium food products into the supply chain and hold a serious percentage of the market share are keen to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead a multi-skilled team of engineers.
The site is currently being significantly invested in and a new line is being installed this year. The site is partially automated with PLC’s and Robotics.
The projects team on site work independently from the maintenance team, so the ideal Engineering Manager for this role will have both leadership and projects experience in order to marry projects and maintenance teams harmoniously

In this role you will facilitate a continuous improvement culture in a world class environment, by development and continued Implementation of WCM strategies by leading, motivating & coaching a team of multi skilled maintenance engineers within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised engineering qualification and previous experience in change management, leading and developing a multi-skilled team and will have experience of maintenance planning (PPM), asset care, health & safety Including environmental issues and facilities.

Responsibilities:
Advise with regard to new product development, new machine start-ups, product or machinery changes, planned maintenance, capital expenditure and manufacturing operations.
Co-ordinate and support with engineering/technical breakdown/failures
Develop, coach and appraise a team of technicians and engineers at the site
Manage a team of technicians and engineers to include recruitment and selection in accordance with Company procedure
Liaise closely with Projects team to ensure adequate information is relayed to optimise performance
Enhance the engineering/technical standards at the Plant, ensuring that a thorough and functioning planned maintenance system exists for all machinery within the Plant
Ensure that all staff is trained to enable them to carry out their duties to accepted and agreed standards and ensure a proactive training matrix exists for all staff
Where required work with the Project Team regarding the commissioning of new equipment or developments
Initiate any changes to working practices deemed to be in the interests of enhancing the plant/business performance
Maintain the engineering spares stores ensuring it is properly indexed with a system in place for controlling the issue and subsequent re-order of parts, to include the recommending and ordering of relevant spares to ensure efficient plant operation
Ensure all site essential services are maintained to optimum levels at all times to include chillers, compressors, transformers and loading equipment
Ensure all quality, hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained and comply with company standards at all times
Ensure the company Health and Safety standards are adhered to at all times by all engineering personnel
Ensure the company disciplinary and grievance procedures are adhered to via liaison with the Human Resource Administrator
Schedule, collate and generate data (trend graphs) on a monthly basis of all site plant from a condition monitoring viewpoint, highlighting pre-fail components
Monitor and control any expenditure to ensure that the budget level is not exceeded without advance warning and agreed justification
Participate in the achievement of the company business plan - manufacturing targets
Attend and undertake any relevant training courses and meetings as deemed necessary to fulfil your role, including travel to other sites when deemed necessary to enhance business performance.
