The Role:

Area Engineering Manager based Stockport / Macclesfield and Woodford. Lancashire Greater Manchester

The Client:

Our client is a provider of manufacturing services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a monthly written report to the UK Engineering Manager.
• Liaise with the UK Engineering Manager and communicate with site manager on projects, budgets, significant problems, PPM and health & safety.
• To carry out hands on reactive and planned maintenance.
• Manage staff reporting to the role.
• Ensure holidays are approved accordingly and that holiday cover is maintained on all assigned sites during holidays.
• Review and control engineering budgets for said sites; permit systems and planned maintenance systems.
• Ensure statutory requirements and inspections are carried out.
• Carry out risk assessments and safe systems of work method statements.
• Manage any maintenance projects on assigned sites.
• Carry out training reviews/appraisals for staff reporting to the role.

The Ideal Candidate:

• ONC or equivalent Electrical or Mechanical.
• Hands-on engineer who is committed, driven and has good attention to detail.
• A strong supervisor and experience of vacuum heat treatment would be desirable.
