We wish to appoint an Engineering Controller Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the key accountabilities of the job holder will be as follows:
To support the delivery of the Search and Rescue (SAR) task at Prestwick on the SKIOS contract, which provides Sea King helicopter maintenance and additional technical support.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
1.Conduct aircraft documentation control inclusive of hard copy and WRAM, as tasked by the SARFM, in accordance with published Procedures and Instructions
2.Act as a focal point for all technical instructions/signals and appropriate returns
3.Carrying out independent activities in own trade in accordance with authoritative documentation and procedures for independent inspections
4.When acting as shift supervisor:
a.Responsible for inputting and co-ordinating WRAM data during maintenance operations
b.Authorised for second signature for own trade group
c.Authorised to sign/clear aircraft available for flight
d.Direct operation and maintenance effort of the shift
e.Direct operation and maintenance effort of AGE
f.Preparation of aircraft for road or air transportation
g.Maintenance in support of storage tasks
h.Determining the level of flight servicing required after maintenance, subject to the appropriate JAP authorisation
i.Monitoring aircraft operating limitations and the deferred rectification of defects, clearing them as necessary
j.Input into aircraft/document fault reporting system (MF76)/MF765), ensuring that all defects are fully reported
7. All the main activities and tasks carried out by Technicians as defined
Qualifications and Experience
•Aeronautical engineering apprenticeship or service equivalent trade training; NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
•Full driving license
•Minimum of five years aircraft engineering experience, including at least two years in a supervisory position
