Energy Systems Analyst, Salary: £40k - £45k + benefits (depending on experience), Location: Bristol



Summary



The role of Systems Analysts and will play a key role in the on-going administration, support and maintenance of systems and databases for a rapidly growing Energy Supplier. Your key responsibility will be to ensure internal stakeholders are consistently happy with the services IT & Systems provide. You will be driving efficiency and stability through continually improving IT systems and databases.


Ideally the candidate will suit a Systems Analyst with DBA experience or a DBA wanting to move into a Systems Analyst focused role. However it could suit a graduate with an IT related degree or somebody with good A-levels with a minimum of 3 years of Systems Analyst with DBA experience and preferably Microsoft certifications. Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Provide 3rd line support for all System related issues
  • Ensure optimization of systems and databases
  • Running and managing complex transactional SQL and stored procedures
  • Defining availability and capacity service improvements
  • Ensure Projects and Service Improvements are completed accurately
  • Work as a systems/applications resource on projects, designing, testing and releasing service improvements
  • Ensure IT and Systems team are fully supported as an escalation point and ensure up to date and complete documentation is available


Skills and Experience Required




  • Excellent working knowledge of how the energy industry works
  • Excellent educational background, with good “A” levels and to preferably degree level.
  • In-depth working knowledge of CRM applications preferably GenTrack and Billing platforms
  • Working experience with DBAs in a Database Services environment
  • Proven track record working with Microsoft database and system technologies, including knowledge of how to configure SQL Servers in single and clustered instances
  • Recent experience of managing multiple applications on Microsoft SQL Server 2008/R2 installations in a high transaction throughput environment for at least 3 years
  • Working knowledge of "database” and systems/applications including SQL Server and advanced transactional stored procedures, triggers and user defined functions
  • Awareness of new SQL Server tools and technologies
  • Experience of, or interest in, working in an Agile (Scrum) environment
  • Serious attention to detail with a solid understanding of documentation
  • Excellent customer-facing and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent configuration/troubleshooting, analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • ITIL Foundation
  • MCP or above Microsoft certification.
