Employee Relations Adviser - 12 Fixed Term Contract

We currently have a new opportunity on a 12 Month Fixed Contract due to team expansion with in our ER Team. You will provide advice, support and coaching to the business in respect of all Employee Relations (ER) issues, including; absence (short term and long term), grievances, disciplinaries, capability (fitness and performance) and consultation (individual and collective for redundancies/ TUPE). Support the HR Business Partners and the business in reaching fair decisions in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements while maintaining a commercial focus. Support Aon Law in defending and concluding employment tribunal cases. Manage projects and lead ER work streams in support of overall business and HR objectives including updating of ER policies and working with third party providers. As an Employee Relations Adviser - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract your main responsibilities will involve: Manage a wide variety of cases at any one time, ensuring they are completed to a high standard and in a timely fashion. Provide sound advice to managers and HR Business Partners on ER issues on a day to day basis. Manage employee consultation, redeployment or termination of employment through TUPE and redundancy exercises. Use coaching and influencing skills to ensure the right outcome is achieved in each case to minimise risk but maximise business results. Advise the business in the understanding, ownership and application of all aspects of employment legislation, procedural compliance and best practice. Ensure ER responsibility is transferred to and owned by the line wherever possible but providing additional support where there is a high risk element/inexperienced manager. Use a clear and accurate interpretation of changes in legislation and codes of practice to ensure the business follows best practice and operates within the parameters of employment law and regulatory requirements. Provide guidance to business in relation to compromise agreements. Advise management and HR Business Partners using articulate and confident communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues simply so they are understood. Ensure that policies and procedures are implemented consistently and that the core values of the business are upheld. Develop effective and credible relationships with the business to promote good employee relations across the business. Monitor and analyse trends of activity and propose remedial action/policy changes to correct and improve employee understanding and management of employee relations issues. Ensure familiarity with Aon policies and procedures enabling quick and accurate advice to be given to managers. Contribute to the development of Aon's employment brand through engagement with the HR Business Partners. Liaise with HR colleagues in HRBP teams, HR Direct, Recruitment and Reward to ensure the development and upkeep of the employee handbook. Deliver an effective internal ER consultancy, remaining focused on adding value to the business and to maximising the effectiveness its employees. Assist the Head of Employee Relations in day to day tasks and projects where appropriate. As an Employee Relations Adviser - 12 Fixed Term Contract your skills and qualifications will ideally include: Excellent technical Employee Relations and Employment Law knowledge through generalist experience or through experience acting in a management or legal role. Experience of ER case management and working in partnership with business managers. Strong commercial approach with a good understanding of business needs. Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment and manage workload to deliver to tight deadlines. Good problem solving skills and ability to create solutions.
