Training Associates is a dynamic and expanding Training Organisation with 8 centres across Hampshire, London and Sussex.

We offer a diverse range of training, from Apprenticeships for 16-18 year olds in Business Administration and IT, to Employability and Personal Development courses. We are also a Learn Direct Training provider.

The ideal Tutor will have had experience of teaching in a classroom environment as well as assessing qualifications. This will include production of schemes of work and lesson plans, and marking and assessment. Experience of online testing would also be an advantage, as would recent experience of working in either a customer service or retail environment.

The Tutor will ideally be PTTLS qualified, and have at least 6 months experience working in a similar role. A1/V1 Assessing qualifications would also be an advantage.

This is an outreach role, and so will involve travelling to deliver our courses in any one of our partner sites within the Greater London region (all business travel covered by our travel expenses scheme).

Key areas of responsibility:

  1. Participate in the development of new courses as requested, including production of Schemes of Work and Lesson/Session Plans
  2. Deliver courses to ensure all learners meet Awarding Body Assessment Criteria in accordance with agreed Schemes of Work, Lesson/Session Plans
  3. Mark/assess candidate work and provide detailed and robust feedback to learners on their performance and progress
  4. Deliver courses at locations required by Line Manager within the Greater London region
  5. Ensure completion of learner administration documentation in accordance with agreed procedures, including for example (but not limited to):
    - Enrolment Forms
    - Verification of Identity
    - Class register
    - Unemployment self-declaration
  6. Ensure completion of learner documentation relating to programme delivery in accordance with agreed procedures, including for example (but not limited to):
    - Initial Advice and Guidance form
    - Individual Learning Plan
    - Progress reviews
  7. Participate in standardisation meetings and promote the development and sharing of good practice
  8. Participate in Lesson Observation and other quality procedures such as involvement in development of Self Assessment report and Development Plan
  9. Ensure personal continuous professional development in line with IfL requirements and maintain own record of CPD, including (but not limited to):
    - working towards achievement of professional qualifications (e.g. DTLLS) where these are not already held
    - maintaining currency of vocational competence
