Organisation Description
The client is a leading semi-government company located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. They are looking to bring on a senior software engineer with experience in or substantial knowledge of the analysis and integration of various systems. Complete SDLC development from concept to design to deployment as well as Implementation of web services and enterprise service bus. Use of source code control, configuration management, and problem tracking tools is a integral part of this role.
Job Description
Job responsibilities include but not limited to :
• Sound software engineering practices to SI, design and development (e.g., systematic approach to system specification, architecture, design, development and documentation of code, configuration management, inspections ad testing, packaging and deployment)
• Analyzing, designing and developing web based application software according to business requirements.
• Integrate applications and develop portal widget and other tools to extract data from different sources.
• Solid experience in designing and developing with Java and PHP
• Strong background and extensive experience with Portal integration, XML and web services implementations.
• Knowledge and experience in software engineering and development, software design, integration and testing of software systems, requirements analysis and specification synthesis.
• Understanding of Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP environment is an advantage
• Possess excellent technical problem-solving skills
• Perform and facilitate to the end-user the generation of information systems reports.
• Train users, provide second line of support for applications software.
• Be strongly self-motivated to tackle challenging problems
• Learn quickly and have a history of producing creative and innovative solutions
• Prioritize work effectively and possess mentoring/training skills
• Interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences via both written and verbal communications
• Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Develop, document, and defend technical decisions
• Recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information
• Handle shifting priorities and meet tough deadlines
• Aggressive learner, soft personal attitude, service organization intellectual capability and team/collaborative mentality are none negotiable requirements
Person Specification
You will ideally have experience in the following technical areas.
• A Bachelors sdegree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS or related fields.
• A minimum of 5 Years of Experience in an IT related field;
• Excellent team player with above par written & verbal communication skills
• Web portal experience in a heavy-traffic environment
• Experience in academic business applications would be great to have.
