An opportunity has now arisen for an Electronic Component Assessment Technician to join their team.

As an Electronic Component Assessment Technician, you will qualify the suitability of alternative components to the requirement of the design engineers.

You will assess the suitability of alternative components from around the world, once the initial design and primary component selection has been completed by design engineers. These components will range from highly stressed power supply transformers and specialised semiconductors to high frequency components such as SMT capacitors and inductors.

Your duties will include:

- Comparing technical datasheets and conducting appropriate tests
- Performing technical measurements using test equipment
- Writing reports and registering suitability status via an Access database
- Liaising with suppliers of components to obtain supporting evidence for approval

To be considered for this position, you must have:

- Significant experience in the electronics industry
- Experience of assessing components

As an Electronic Component Assessment Technician, you must have a careful, methodical and flexible approach. Excellent communication skills are also key.

Although not essential, experience of working on hardware components would be an advantage to your application.
