Electrical Fitter (Machine Build) Redditch £25000 - £30000 per annum There is an immediate, permanent requirement for a skilled electrical fitter to join a very successful local company. The role will be to take responsibility for all electrical wiring and fitting of specialist machine tools including control panels. The company are firmly established within their field and are constantly developing new products that are well received by both their existing client base and new customers, who span many industry sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical and general engineering. Their products are manufactured to order, and based on a standard range that can be customised to bespoke specifications as required. The role The role of Electrical Fitter will involve the wiring of all electrical elements on predominantly new build machines, with refurbishment work on reconditioned machines as required. The Fitter will be expected to wire all pre-specified component parts, such as motors, pumps, inverters etc as required, wire the relevant control panels and test their work to produce a machine that is functioning correctly. The role will incorporate a design element where the successful candidate must have the ability to create and install wiring as required (to including control panels), without design drawings to work to. In short it is an opportunity to take full ownership of all electrical installation work on a range of machine tools. The Candidate The ideal candidate will have proven electrical installation / fitting experience preferably from a new build machine tool environment. A time served apprenticeship in a relevant electrical discipline will be preferred, but to be considered the following skills and experiences will need to be evidenced: - Ability to wire as required electrical components on new / reconditioned machinery. - Ability to construct and fully wire control panels from scratch including siting and layout of all required controls / switches / warning lights. - Ability to specify and utilise appropriate electrical materials including wire, cable and ancillary components to satisfy the needs of each machine tool. - Electrical troubleshooting skills, in order to rectify faults - Methodical and organized nature and working style Any additional specific skills will be advantageous but are not essential, including: - PLC knowledge (interrogation and/ or programming) - Advanced knowledge of Servomechanisms - Pneumatic piping experience This position offers an extremely good opportunity for someone to join a very established local manufacturing company. The role is a fixed day shift role of 39 hours per week with an element of flexibility on start and finish times as per personal preference. Holiday entitlement is 31 days. Salary is based in the region of £25000 - £30000 per annum, based on previous roles held and skills and experiences that can be demonstrated.
