A leading solicitor’s in West Yorkshire is recruiting a EL/PL Fee Earner to deliver a robust quality claims handling and litigation service to the companies clients, to generate fee income and to contribute to the general success of the department.
The successful candidate would be responsible for a portfolio of Fast Track and Multi Track Employer Liability, Public Liability and Occupier Liability Personal Injury compensation claims.

Job Description
Each fee earner would deal with approximately 230 cases, comprising of a mixture of Fast Track and Multi Track cases dependent on experience (approx 20% litigated)
Daily tasks would include;-
• Being responsible for a portfolio of EL/PL/OL Personal Injury claims, including Fast Track and Multi Track cases.
• Progress claims from inception through to settlement.
• Mainly office based with occasional travel.
• Assess potential success of leads.
• Intensive research into accident circumstances.
• Draft bespoke letters of claim and particulars of claim.
• Assess liability, quantum, calculate special damages and value claims for Personal Injury.
• Research and obtain case law on quantum and liability.
• Liaise with employers, medical agencies, clients and carers, counsel and third parties.
• Issue and run litigation to ensure the best settlement figures for clients.
• Work with a task based system to ensure regular contact is maintained with all clients.
• Deal with litigated cases and be fully aware of relevant court procedures and timetables.
Person Specification
• Our client will look at Senior or Junior level candidates for this role however you do need to have a practical knowledge of EL/PL claims.
• You will have technical litigation and claims handling experience.
• Unfortunately candidates without litigation claims experience will not be considered.
• Excellent customer service standards.
• An excellent negotiator.
• Ability to engage with clients and manage clients expectations.
• Demonstrates a high level of persuasive influencing skills both orally and in writing.
• Strong communication skills including objection handling.
