e-Commerce Business Analyst
Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Salary: up to £30,000 + benefits
Our client is a dynamic, high-tech company that has doubled in size in each of the past two years and is forecast to do so again this year. With plans to break into the US this year and to support this ongoing growth, they now wish to appoint a capable and technically savvy Business Analyst.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical thinker with a proven track record to join a growing team of analysts providing technical support.
Description
The role involves working in cross-functional teams, and with our client’s customers to plan their software roadmap of new system functionality
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, however, are not limited to:
- Working closely with customers, partners, sales, account management, support, development, and test to lead the software development lifecycle of our client’s platform
- Keeping abreast of ecommerce marketplace developments, and developing technical relationships with the key partners such as eBay and Amazon.
- Working with the appropriate stakeholders to write feature "user stories" and prioritisation of them based on business requirements
- Produce long-term roadmap plans based on user story backlog
- Work with development and test in scheduling user stories and defects into software releases
- Working with development and test in tracking release burndown progress, coaching cross functional teams on areas that need to be addressed and communication of issues to stakeholders
- Work with development and test in understanding release velocity, and monitoring trends of commitments versus deliveries. Coaching teams on changes to be made based on any slips to plan
- Documenting new features with data sheets, product descriptions, and white papers
Key Skills
The ideal candidate will be a technically-savvy problem-solver and have a strong ability to "think outside the box." He or she will be dedicated to providing a first class service while working cooperatively with other members of the organization to get technical issues resolved.
- eCommerce, Science, engineering, analytical, business, or Finance background
- Sound numerical skills proven through your academic record or previous work experience
- Strong analytical skills - ability to manipulate and assimilate data and draw relevant conclusions
- Proven logic and reasoning skills
- Good presentation skills, both oral and written
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads
- Ability to work both alone and in a team, under pressure
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Excel
- Good client liaison skills through face-to-face contact as well as over the telephone
- Experience of working in an agile development environment
- Good understanding of e-commerce, inventory management, search engine marketing, and web
