An exciting role has arisen with a social care provider; they are currently looking to recruit a District Service Manager to their Management team.
There will be a significant emphasis placed on the strategic development of the business. The Service Manager will have overall responsibility of their Community and Staff Team. They will oversee an experienced team of Registered Managers & Care Support, as well as representatives of Hospitality, Finance, HR and Quality.
This position would be a great opportunity for current Operation's or Area Manager's. However, the position available would also be ideal for an established Care Manager who has a passion for Financial Management, Business Development and Marketing.
Specific Responsibilities of the role will include the following:
*Lead, develop and motivate managers, including supporting their individual and professional development, providing regular performance feedback and conducting appraisals. Maintain regular contact and effective relationships with all Managers by carrying out regular visits and holding group meetings.
*To monitor key performance indicators in all services and ensure that all homes and services meet their requirements and standards.
*Liaise and negotiate with the relevant regulatory and commissioning authorities.
*Be available to meet with service users, relatives and other stakeholders as required.
*Ensure any complaints are investigated and resolved speedily and effectively.
*To promote good working relations with volunteers who support services.
*In addition to the recruitment of Home Managers, to participate in the selection of senior posts within the services. Monitor the use of staffing resources and working practices to ensure that efficient and effective arrangements are maintained.
*To agree with local managers annual business and financial plans for approval by the Group Director. Review monthly management accounts, initiating action plans with local managers based on improving financial performance.
*Ensure that local Managers take positive steps to market their services to achieve optimum occupancy levels/take up.
*Identify opportunities for the development of new and existing services and areas for further research.
*To be responsible for the negotiation of contracts and fees with Local Authorities and PCT's for new and existing service
Role Requirements:
*Minimum 5 years experience at managerial level in a social care environment
*Business development experience and demonstrable evidence of business development skills
*Good market knowledge of the
*Held management responsibility for P and L in Social care sector
*Practise development experience
*Effective relationship management skills
*Needs to be prepared to live in or very near the region (Essex)
*General and line management experience
*Social Care operational background would be useful
