Position: Distribution Team Leader (Logistics / Supply Chain)
Location: Paddock Wood, Kent

ROLE:
They are currently looking to recruit a Distribution Team Leader (Logistics / Supply Chain). The role`s primary task is to ensure that the Distribution Department meets company standards through providing the highest quality and service to internal and external customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Manage and supervise the activity of the sales operation to ensure that customer service is maintained and continuously improved.
b) Ensure all Sales Delivery Drivers comply with health and safety and food safety legislation, policies and standards, initiating any required action so that the department is healthy and safe and free from accidents.
c) Assist in ensuring that the sales operation complies with transport operators regulations to ensure continued legal vehicle operation.
d) Develop and motivate the sales driving team to ensure they achieve the goals and targets agreed within their role profiles and performance review meetings.
e) Manage the performance of the Sales Distribution Team to ensure that the required standards are met and company procedures followed.
f) Ensures that the company derives revenue from deliveries made by ensuring that correctly formatted proof of delivery is obtained.
g) Coordinate the induction of all new employees as per the company procedure.
h) Ensure all company procedures for discipline, grievance, holidays and absence are met.
i) Carry out regular team briefings and produce written feedback.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) You will have previous experience of working within a fast paced Sales Distribution Operations environment and be motivated to drive our business forward through continuous improvement.
b) You will be well organised and have excellent team working and communication skills.
c) Sales Distribution Operations is a fast paced environment where tight deadlines have to be met therefore, the ability to take initiative, solve problems and be flexible is essential.
DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) A crucial part of the role involves motivating the team in order to achieve the required standards of performance, therefore previous experience of managing others would be advantageous.
