Disabled Adaptations Caseworker

Our client a large social housing provider based in the West Midlands currently require an experienced Disabled Adaptations Caseworker to provide temporary cover to their busy team. The role is full time and will involve:

Provision of practical and technical advice to homeowners who wish to undertake repairs and/or improvements in their own homes which enable them to maintain their independence;

Visit clients to assess work required, taking into account the wishes of tenants and the needs of the property;

Assess clients requirements for adaptations and advise on feasibility of required works;

Liaise closely with maintenance teams to ensure required work can be completed and to keep tenants updated on progress;

Provide advice on available financial help, including social security benefits, DFG's, loans and maturity mortgages, and assist tenants obtain the help to which they are entitled;

To apply for this role you must have previous experience in assisting clients to maintain their independence in their own homes. You will have worked in a similar role or within occupational health. You will have a current CRB check and access to your own transport. Applicants who have previously worked in a 'Care and Repair' or 'Home Improvement Agency' role  are highly desirable.
