An exciting opportunity has come about in a respected insurance broker as a Development Underwriter. As the Development Underwriter your role will be to manage and develop the relationships with a large number of insurance brokers and profitably underwrite Commercial business.
The successful candidate will be of a decent experience and confident in all aspects of Commercial underwriting specifically Commercial Combined and Commercial Schemes Business.
Responsibilities
Successfully enhance existing relationships with a designated panel of insurance intermediaries
Develop new broker opportunities and build a book of profitable business
Underwrite Commercial Schemes and General Commercial business under Binder agreement
Sell company products and services in a compliant manner to Brokers, maximising sales and achieving profitable growth
Build and maintain relationships with clients in order to maximise new business opportunities and existing business retention
Identify all suitable risks and provide local underwriting resource and expertise
Actively identify and pursue cross-selling, up-selling and similar opportunities
Skills
Experience within the Insurance Industry with a good Technical understanding of Commercial Insurance
Previous Schemes Underwriting experience would be beneficial
Proven ability to manage and develop relationships
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
