We’re a start-up designing a new revolutionary spectrometer and are looking for a Physicist to contribute to the design and evaluation effort. You’ll have a good first degree in Physics, have demonstrable experience in optics and be enthusiastic about this adventure!

The salary is based in your experience and the package includes pension and share options, so you'll really be a part of it.

The ideal Development Engineer / Physicist will have the following profile, however since this is the real world, we expect you’ll only have some of these attributes:

> A solid understanding of classical optics
> Comfortable writing software code to control lab experiments, preferably using LabView
> Happy to "get hands dirty" in the lab and back up theoretical predictions with repeatable results
> Able to build mathematical models using packages such as MathCAD or R
> Capable of writing concise reports to document theoretical and practical work
> Set high performance standards for self and attains the same from others
> Not afraid to be critical and challenging, but capable of "toe-ing the party line" when this is required for the overall benefit of the Company

Basically, be a first-class scientist and designer; highly analytical, pragmatic, solutions focused, capable of quickly assimilating new concepts and theories and testing them.
