Design Engineer

Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join an organisation responsible for designing equipment for marine applications.

Proficient in ProEngineer Wildfire or similar 3D CAD program

The Job

The successful applicant will assist with design concepts, detail design and design modifications, the role requires good core engineering skills including the use of hand calculations to backup more advanced design analysis tools.

A good attention to detail is critical as is an eye for styling as you will be working with large, complicated, prestigious and high value products. 
Your CAD modelling and visualisation skills (preferably ProEngineer) will compliment your natural aptitude for resolving mechanical design issues. You will have a thorough grasp of product engineering and able to produce accurate engineering drawings. 
You will be highly organised and pragmatic with the ability to complete projects within tight time frames. The job will involve working on a broad range of products and ability to multi task is critical. The role is very hands on and you will be expected to produce prototypes and partake in product testing and trials.

Skills and Experience:-

Strong mechanical design ability.
Good casting fabrication and/or injection moulding design skills.
Attention to detail and an eye for styling.
Excellent drawing presentation skills.
Self motivated and flexible.
Knowledge of modern prototyping methods and experience of hands on product development / testing.
Proficient in ProEngineer Wildfire or similar 3D CAD program.
Knowledge of FEA techniques (ProMechanica).
