Traditionally every production database drags a large trail of infrastructure behind it, making many copies of each production database, for development, unit test, cutover test, reporting, and other purposes. If development or testing require updates from the production system, then additional effort and storage are needed to refresh the copies. The role of Database Administrator entails responsibility for the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of Agile Database Management solutions / Server Virtualisation The role includes the development and design of database strategies, monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements. You will also plan, co-ordinate and implement security measures to safeguard the database, improving system performance and performance tuning. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of the databases aiming for minimum downtime. You will also be working with this company’s existing customers as required, who are mainly with companies in the Fortune 1000 across major industries, including technology, telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, consumer goods, and SaaS and working alongside the organisations development team.
