Data Analyst - Work Based Learning Provider

A successful National Work Based Learning Provider based in Oxfordshire are currently looking for a Data Analyst.

Reporting to the Finance Director you will be responsible for the effective analysis and use of management information (MI) across the business with a significant focus on supporting the management of Funding contracts including SFA contracts. This will include developing effective tools, monitoring performance in line with external profiles and internal budgets, forecasting and re-forecasting and supporting directors to develop business cases for growth.  The primary objective is to maximize the drawdown of all contract values each year.

Key duties include:

·              Management of timeliness, accuracy and appropriateness of information available to support key business decisions and the performance management cycles across the company

·              Development and implementation of MI and / or statistical tools to support analysis and management of contract value

·              Funding forecasting and re-forecasting to inform the business as to what activity needs to be undertaken to maximize the value of each contract for both internal and external provision

·              Support the Finance Director to develop budgets based on funding forecasts

·              Manage the distribution of timely and accurate management information from external agencies to support quality assurance across the company

·              Analysis of performance against plan and national profiles and associated tolerances, identifying variances and making recommendations

·              Analysis and implementation of appropriate technology and software solutions to facilitate effective access to necessary information across the company

·              Effective and proactive use of any externally available tools such as the Learner Information Suite (LIS), including meaningful analyses of relevant Data Self-Assessment Toolkit (DSATS) leading to management reports and recommendations

·              Provide ongoing IAG to directors and managers on changes to funding

·              Work with the Information Manager and Partner Provider Manager to support all external audit processes in line with contractual requirements to ensure that the MI and data are compliant

·              Support the quality improvement cycle by carrying out internal quality and compliance audits of all data and MI functions

·              Liaise with external consultants to plan and prepare for mock audit and take an active role to make improvements post report

The successful candidate must have demonstrable analytical skills (statistical and numerical) and a proven track record of working to LSC / SFA contracts with an in-depth understanding of SFA funding.  In addition the following skills are essential:

·         Advanced excel user; including experience of creating tools, lookup, pivot and formula skills

·         High level use of IT; Microsoft Office, database management, SQL skills.  

·         Ability to work independently to a high level of quality and meet deadlines

·         Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work cooperatively with others from a variety of backgrounds and functions.

·         Modelling and forecasting skills

This is a permanent position to start immediately. The salary offered is something in the range of £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
