Role Summary

We are actively recruiting for our depots in BOW, CROYDON and HAYES in LONDON, OXFORD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, MILTON KEYNES and WEDNESDBURY.

£70 per day / £350 - £500 per week

Vans, Fuel Cards and uniform provided

The contract is ongoing throughout the year.

Duties will involve multidrop parcel home and business deliveries.

Understanding of multidrop manifests, and hand held PDA's advantageous.

Specific and extensive training will be provided.

Saturdays and Sundays are part of the working week with weekly rest days.

Working on a self employed basis

Essential Qualifying Criteria:

Hardworking and reliable multidrop delivery drivers who are able to work on their own initiative in various locations around the country.

Experience advantageous but not essential, however we do require you to have some experience within a similar van based role.

Satisfactory CRB check at basic disclosure level/satisfactory 7 year background checks/Eligibility to work in the UK

All candidates must satisfy a drugs and alcohol test

Experience in a UK driving role is advantageous with a good working knowledge of the Working time directive and drivers hours is required which 10 Hours Maximum with 30 min Break

No more than 6 active points on your license;

We cannot accept UNSPENT DRINK DRIVING points (they last 11 years)

We cannot accept IN10 INSURANCE Endorsements

Key Tasks

Comply with the working time directive and drivers hrs at all times

Demonstrate strong customer service skills and comply with all relevant procedures so that customer requirements are understood, ensure that deliveries are completed in a timely manner and that you arrive at the customer premises well presented at all times and that you are polite, courteous and helpful.

There are NO collections.

Work collaboratively with fellow colleagues, supervisors and managers being supportive, sharing the work load, obtaining support where required and being flexible to changing circumstances.

Deliver parcels liaising with customer and in-house transport department on any delays, and changes to planned route including unplanned stops and parking.

Ensure paperwork is accurate and POD's are signed and legible, dated, timed and returned to the office Vehicle Defects Complete defects reports daily ensuring that are accurate and any defects reported.

Check vehicles are carrying correct equipment, including tools, driver's packs, bulb kits & fire extinguishers.

Loading and unloading vehicles Ensure vehicles are loaded and secured correctly, distributing the load suitably to the vehicle whilst ensuring H&S guidelines are adhered to.

ID Badges provided and must be displayed correctly at all times

Ensure full uniform is clean and presentable at all times and PPE is worn as required

Ensure vehicles are kept clean

Ensure personal hygiene is of a good, high standard as you will be working in close proximity with colleagues and customers.

The hours vary from depot to depot

Start times between 06.00 - 10.00am with 9 and 1/2 hours driving time allowed
