Organisation Description
Cost & Management Accountant required with at least 3 years experience within a manufacturing, industrial industry experience.
Job purpose if to apply advanced costing techniques for the cost & inventory analysis/controls, ensure the integrity of data and accurate MIS reporting to enable the effective decision making process.
Job Description
1. Analysing actual manufacturing costs, comparing standard costs to actual and preparing periodic reports on variances.
2. Evaluate the cause of variance and ensure appropriate controls and continuous improvement.
3. Review and modify the controls needed for data collection and cost reporting systems.
4. Periodical revision of standard costing of the manufacturing products.
5. Ensure controls to avoid purchasing unneeded inventory which may increase the carrying cost and block working capital.
6. Lead annual physical inventories verification process and monitor cycle count programs.
7. Monitor cost saving areas and also evaluate for new areas and advise management.
8. Liaise with Chief Accountant and assist in month end close of the general ledger periodical closing and MIS report.
9. Budget preparation and effective budgetary control.
10. Analysing capital budget request.
Person Specification
Solid cost accounting experience
Ability to prepare accurate periodic reports
Strong analytical skills
ERP experience
Manufacturing experience.
