Store Manager Vacancy- Stourbridge & Surrounding Areas
The Tates divison of A F Blakemore is the largest independent convenience store operator in the UK and owns and manages over 210 SPAR stores across central England and North and Mid Wales.
We currently have a new, exciting opportunity for an experienced supervisor/manager, ideally with a background in food retail (or similar), to manage one of our SPAR stores in Stourbridge and surrounding areas.
The Store Manager will be responsible for driving the business forward by maximising sales and profit through continuous improvement of the store and staff, control of costs and leakage and provision of friendly, efficient service to customers, colleagues and visitors. The Store Manager/ Manager Designate will also actively be involved, working with the Area Manager, in the recruitment and training process for all store staff.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following:
- Previous management/ supervisory experience within a retail environment
- Ideally would have experience of managing a 'Challenge 25 policy’ and relevant qualifications such as an NVQ level 3 in management.
- Will currently hold or be willing to undertake the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holder (NCPLH) qualification
- Managing, supporting and advising colleagues in order to achieve business objectives which may include recruitment, performance management (measuring and setting KRA’s) and training.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate, influence and negotiate in order to influence and deliver excellent customer service internally and externally
- Understanding of budgets and targets and the ability to consistently deliver within them, actively planning to ensure financial performance is managed effectively whilst working to improve financial issues where necessary
- Ability to generate ideas and procedures to drive the business and team forward while effectively monitoring and managing staff performance and recognising and coaching colleagues with development or support needs for high potential and underperforming staff
