Control Systems Engineer - Material Handling & Processing

A Controls Engineer is needed by a Warwickshire based manufacturer of material handling and automated process equipment. You will be involved in the design of control panels and PLC systems according to customer requirements. The position offers a starting salary of circa £32k.

Position:     Controls Design Engineer - Material Handling & Processing

Location:     Alcester, Warwickshire

Salary:        £31,000 - £33,000

As Controls Engineer you will be part of the team responsible for the design of control systems for automated material handling and packaging equipment.  You will be involved in the design of wiring schematics, panel diagrams and control systems incorporating Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC’s along with required sensors, drives and associated components.

Over the last 25+ years, the Company have built a strong reputation of supplying high quality machines and automated handling equipment to food manufacturers, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and process sectors across the UK and worldwide.

You will become a key member of the Engineering Team translating customer’s technical requirements into designs for electrical control architecture and maintaining project involvement through to final test and sometimes commissioning stages.

What do you need?

  • An Electrical Engineering bias with mechanical engineering skills also.
  • You will ideally have background and experience of systems development of process machinery, process plant, material handling / bulk handling or automated PLC controlled equipment for the process, packaging or conveying industry.
  • PLC software programming.
  • You will be required to undertake some travel with your work, offering support & assistance with commissioning activities, etc, as necessary.
  • Ideally you will have experience of control system design utilising electrical / PLC systems, drives, inverters, etc.
