Exciting Control & Instrumentation Technician role within leading International Power PLC power plant.

Salary: £30-36k + extensive package

International Power PLC is a leading independent power generation company with interests in closely linked businesses around the world. As part of their site development in the North of England, Saltend Cogeneration Plant in Hull is looking to recruit a Control & Instrumentation Technician to join the existing engineering and maintenance teams in performing fault diagnosis and routine maintenance on the plant and equipment.

Reporting to the Discipline Engineer, the Control & Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for complex plant and equipment maintenance ensuring that all maintenance targets are achieved safely, within environmental limits and are commercially viable. Liaising with other station teams on performance issues, the Control & Instrumentation Technician will provide workable performance, maintenance and engineering solutions. Managing budgets and projects, the Control Instrumentation Technician will also hold safety responsibilities, implement and develop maintenance strategies whilst ensuring that all work adheres to quality, health, safety and environmental policies. This will include producing documentation, drawings and manuals. Development of relationships with external bodies and contractors is expected.

The successful Control & instrumentation Technician will have obtained previous experience within a power plant or process based environment and be well versed in plant maintenance, inspection and diagnosis. You will be confident in your knowledge of health, safety and environmental management systems and safety rules. As an effective leader, you will achieve targets, effectively prioritise workloads, meet budgets and take ownership of problems. The successful candidate will be an active communicator who is IT literate. You will be a team player who can perform under pressure and ensure that all responses are commercially focused and in real-time.
