Contract Manager - Crewe - Circa £28,000pa

Hermes is one of the best known names in the home shopping delivery market, providing our customers with high standards of quality and service. 

Hermes are currently looking for a Contract Manager to ensure that the Crewe Depot Operation, which is managed by a subcontractor, meets and exceeds the required service levels for all customers in a cost effective manner.

Principle Responsibilities

To manage the service provided by the Contract Service provider, maintaining budget in order to achieve the agreed service levels

  • To work in conjunction with the Contract Service provider to maintain the health, safety and welfare of all employees and visitors
  • To monitor radial van route make up and courier drop times working with the service provider to ensure efficient routing.
  • To ensure all Hermes employees are developed and trained within the company’s guidelines
  • To ensure all required reporting documentation is maintained to the required standard & timescales
  • To regularly review agreed Contract service SLA’s
  • To work closely with the Hermes team and Contract service provider to ensure improvements are made
  • To attend Hermes meetings and represent the depot where required

Knowledge/Experience/Skill/Competencies Needed 

  • CPC Licence holder
  • Educated to GCSE level or above
  • Full current Driving licence
  • Management experience in a similar 3P environment
  • Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment
  • PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • An understanding of Transport regulations
  • Good communicator - able to liaise at all levels
  • Numerate self-starter.
  • Flexible approach to work
