Consultant - Capital Management
Competitive package + excellent benefits
Swindon

At Nationwide, we go to great lengths to protect both our business and our customers. And integral to our efforts is the Capital Management department. Joining them as consultant, you’ll help to maintain our financial stability and create a better service for everyone.

A more challenging role

In this key support role, you’ll assist in the development of the Group capital strategy and Capital Management plan. That means liaising with the wider business to assess financial objectives, putting together an infallible plan to make sure they’re met, and taking every necessary measure to ensure our money is being spent wisely. It also means working closely with stakeholders and key external parties to identify the impact of external capital reforms - carrying out assessments, considering key risks and updating Heads Of business on capital related issues. Simply put, you’ll help to embed capital planning into all areas of the business and create a more financial stable environment going forward.

A more talented person
Educated to degree level in a numerate subject, you’ll be a qualified accountant or working towards a CFA, ACCA or ACT qualification at the very least. Along with the ability to understand and interpret forecasting models, you’ll have no problem providing meaningful analysis and spotting vital trends. And as well as excellent communication and influencing skills, you’ll need the gravitas and confidence to present to senior management - transforming complex information into a clear and concise message.

An employer you’ll be proud of
Our mutual status means we’re here to benefit customers, not shareholders. Our commitment to customers, not shareholders, has always been what sets us apart from our competitors. And now, more than ever, our reputation for being open, honest and trustworthy is helping us go from strength to strength. In fact, it’s made us the world’s biggest building society as well as a major local employer. Underpinning it all is a commercial operation that never stands still. We’re always thinking ahead, aiming higher and sharpening our competitive edge. That’s why we invest in people who are not only proud of what we stand for, but who also have the talent and drive to boost our performance still further.

The rewards you deserve
If you put a lot in, it’s only fair you should get a lot out. Help us continue to offer customers the best possible experience, and we’ll give you all the support, recognition and rewards you deserve. As well as a great working environment and plenty of scope for development and growth, you can expect a generous package that includes pension, life assurance, healthcare and bonus scheme.
