Construction Project Accountant- St Clears Pembrokeshire. Salary Negotiable (Depending on experience) This is a full time position Monday- Friday.
Our clients core experience and specialist expertise is in the infrastructure and civil engineering.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To control and proactively manage the financial accounting and reporting activities of the joint venture project
ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifying required resources to carry out the full accounting functions and statutory authorities returns.
- Forecast & Budgeting of final cost out come for the project, monthly monitoring and carrying out variance analysis.
- Preparation of weekly Cash flow Forecasts projecting anticipated 6 week look ahead outflows. To achieve neutral cash at each month end before next payment.
- Goods Received Notes and Weekly Hire Records documentation input into Coins Software.
- Preparation of Monthly accounting timetables to match client’s requirements as set out in the contract.
- Monthly Closedown of the accounts and production of the cost reports
- Inputting of Monthly Subcontractors Certificates.
- Preparation and input of monthly accruals in reversing journal format.
- Preparation and submission of 3 Monthly VAT returns.
- Reconciliation of bank statements with computerised cashbook.
- Approval and signing off of suppliers invoices and checking codes.
- Computerised payments to subcontractors’ applications bi-monthly basis.
- Computerised payments to suppliers on a weekly basis.
- Extensive use of excel spreadsheets.
- Coins Computer software experience an advantage.
- Online Submission of 3 Monthly VAT returns.
- Online Submission of Monthly CIS returns.
- Ensure correct cost coding of all suppliers invoices, subcontractors certificates, staff, labour and plant is adhered to.
- Involved in the monthly payroll processing which is carried out by Sisk on behalf of the JV. This would involve payment to statutory authorities e.g. tax and NHI and or directly to employees bank accounts
SPECIFIC SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Staff safety in conjunction with Safety Manager and Project Director
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
- Previous experience on Self Accounting on Major Projects and Joint Ventures.
- Experience of managing an Accounts Department, multi tasking and working to strict deadlines and timetables
- Effective at dealing with people at all levels
- Bright, communicative and focused with a dynamic, self-motivated personality.
- Must have the confidence to challenge senior management team and existing processes and the ability to identify improvements.
- Pragmatic and a logical thinker with an "eye for detail"
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA) with experience of the NEC form of contract.
