The UK business operates from Newcastle-under-Lyme employing  around 200 people and provides a comprehensive engineering, logistics and commercial support capability to our U.K. customers.  We have delivered significant growth in recent years and supply major customers in the automotive, commercial vehicle and supplier sectors from our world class overseas manufacturing facilities.

Our products are custom designed and are complex assemblies of hundreds of parts which combine to act as both the circulatory and nervous systems in a vehicle. Customers rely on our expertise. The key roles we are seeking to fill will enable us to continue to provide a full service supply capability from initial design concepts, through manufacture to ongoing customer support. 

We now wish to recruit:

Component Design Engineer        based in Newcastle, Staffordshire

Salary circa £28k & bonus           

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to design, develop & validate bespoke automotive components within the EDS system from concept through to production. Your role will include:
 

- Preparing and maintaining project plans  in line with customer and business requirements.

- Determining resource and budget requirements and ensuring adherence.

- Developing and managing Design and Production Validation plans

- Supporting customers and project teams in accordance with contractual and strategic objectives.

Educated to HNC level (or equivalent) in electrical/mechanical engineering you should have proven experience in a similar role ideally within the automotive industry. Good working knowledge of Catia V5 essential. Knowledge of materials, tooling and rapid prototyping desirable as is experience of component validation testing. You must be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a demanding, pressurised environment.
