Job Description
Being an active leader to a group of supports, with responsibility for the overall operational management and financial performance, ensuring all legislative and quality requirements are met in accordance with ubu’s mission, vision, policies and procedures.
A Community Manager would be expected to:
• Be a positive, proactive and friendly leader to an allocated group of support homes, providing fresh, new ideas.
• Ensure tenants have a thorough and up to date needs assessment, support and risk management plans which are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
• Meet with teams regularly to lead and manage performance, focusing on consistent practice standards and their impact on achieving outcomes for each tenant.
• Ensure support is delivered in consultation with tenants, their families and carers.
• Ensure each support meets the requirements of Supporting People, CQC and that they adhere to the Safeguarding processes, in line with the local authorities’ requirements.
• Critically evaluate the quality of support provided with monthly or bi monthly audits, including financial audits, formulating action plans which will then be followed up to develop the support, in conjunction with the appropriate Team Leader.
• Maximise the financial performance of an allocated group of supports, ensuring they meet agreed targets.
• Market the support homes to commissioners, actively pursuing referrals and admissions.
• Recruit and appoint suitable staff to the support teams using the Recruitment Process.
• Using formal and informal support sessions, promote the professional development of staff.
• Support on areas of performance management, where necessary.
• As part of the on call rota, be available on a consultancy basis outside office hours.
• Ensure that each support home is maintained to a high quality standard.
• Ensure that an allocated group of supports adhere to the arrangements and procedures of fire prevention and Health and Safety.
• Oversee staff performance, including management of long term sickness and other unauthorised absences, including the implementation of the Bradford Factor.
• Using CoolBlue, plan rotas in line with contracts to meet the needs of the tenants.
• Attend contract meetings with each local authority to feed back on performance.
• Review care and support matrices annually and when there is a change in need or a new person is to be served.

• Proposing and developing strategic plans
• Developing and monitoring organisational objectives and policies;
• Managing budgets and resources;
• Engendering Inter-agency co-operation at decision making level.
• Creating and developing effective performance management systems
• Promoting new service development and commissioning new services.
• Experience of Managing people and teams
• Experience of negotiating and managing contracts for services / suppliers
• IT competent
Desirable:
• Held an equivalent position;
• Good understanding of the role and organisation
Forensic Experience.
• Experience of self transforming Organisations;
• Thorough knowledge of IT and its application
Education, Training & Qualifications:

• Relevant Professional and management Qualification;
• Undertaken significant management training;
