The Role / Duties
Our client a large Insurance company is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join their team.
Your role will include:
Underwriting new commercial and package risks in accordance with the various delegated authorities.
Dealing with renewals and mid term adjustments
Ensure binding authorities are not exceeded and are properly used.
Provide technical support to the Group's various Divisions in respect of underwriting matters.
Ensure documentation is issued accurately, in accordance with any service levels and meets contract certain rules/timescales
Provide training to front line sales staff and delegate a limited amount of authority to them.
Establish a system to monitor and control their use of this authority and report any breaches
Help identify new scheme possibilities, aiding with product development, covers and wordings as necessary.
Help ensure all schemes are launched speedily and efficiently, liaising with insurers and internal managers, staff and other stakeholders as necessary.
Salary / Benefits
£30.000 - £40.000 dependent on experience

The Person
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years commercial underwriting experience and have previous exposure to working in a broking culture. You must have a positive and flexible attitude, excellent communication and negotiating skills and be able to work on your own and as part of a team.

ACII is preferred, however this is not essential
