Cold Forming Setter/Operator

My client is the world leader in quick access fasteners, delivering products to Automotive, Aerospace, IT and Medical markets. Due to Expansion they are seeking a Cold Forming Setter/Operator to be responsible for the setting, operating & m/c maintenance programmes in the cold forming department.

You will be responsible for:
Performing the safe setting & upsetting of all relevant cold forming plants, to a standard to support high volume on time production on an hourly basis, using all current procedural documentation, monitoring and updating setting sheets to comply with current status.
The monitoring of the maintenance required on all cold forming & auxiliary equipment delegated to your ownership, using fluid maintenance standard ops, service sheets, m/c maintenance boards, and updating m/c history sheets
The maintenance, refurbishment & storage of all tooling related to cold forming processes, reporting on stock levels of consumables to the team leader. Organising sample pieces for setting, training, & customer traceability, using current procedures.

Applicants must have
Machine operating experience CNC based
Good engineering background - may have served an apprenticeship, or city guilds level 3 or 4 engineering minimum
HNC desirable or foundation degree
Cold heading or cold rolling experience would be an advantage!
Setting and programming skills
Exposure to quality standards
Able to read and understand engineering drawings
Excellent communication and flexibility
Familiar with lean principles

This position is Monday - Thursday 2pm-11pm and Friday 2pm to 6pm.
Hours worked are subject to a +25% shift allowance. (ONCE training is completed)
25 days holiday, 3 to be saved for Christmas.
