CNC Turner Programmer / Setter

Job Description
Our client based in Somerset is a very successful sub contract manufacturing facility, offering a range of high-precision machining and fabrication. They have the capacity to offer a diversity of supply from sliding head turning to a fully welded and painted fabrication. They also specialise in exotic materials such as titanium, inconel, monel, duplex and hasteloy.
Due to continued success and being awarded additional contracts they are looking to recruit additional skilled people in the CNC milling section. The successful CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter will be able to program, set and operate CNC turning centres. You will be able to work to drawings and job instructions to produce quality components.
You duties as a CNC Turner will include programming and setting, being able to create entire new programs to specific drawing requirements. Ideally you will have experience of programming methods be able to problem solve. Ideally you will also have an understanding of mathematical concepts such as trigonometry.
As a CNC Turner operator you will be able to meet deadlines and run rates and be able to inspect components to ensure that they meet the drawing requirements. It would also be advantageous if you were able to operate basic manual machines as and when required.
It would be highly desirable if you have previous experience of inspection equipment to be able to ensure the correct equipment is selected for the required job and be able to undertake first off inspection.
The company promote a continuous improvement policy and are always looking to improve efficiency, effectiveness and cost reduction. They operate 5S activities and are always open to recommendations for improvements within this program.
