Job Title: CNC Setter
Location: Witham
Salary: £20k to £26k depending on experience
Hours: Shift pattern 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm working 38.75 hrs + shift allowance
Experienced CNC Setter/Operator required to participate in production setting and development of machining set ups to achieve optimum production and quality standards. Must have gained experience working within a production environment along with experience working on both vertical and horizontal machines with metals.
Duties:
*Facilitate machine set ups and prove process capability using SPC techniques
*Maintain set up and first line maintenance and equipment control to ensure maximum production capability
*Provide CNC setting for machine tools and processes
*Support Production Supervisor to meet production demands, by working on equipment as required
*Maintain set up instructions
*Initial machine/process set up and capability proving and cell layout
*Improving cycle times
*Working with the foundry to understand and overcome casting processes that affect the machine shops' ability to meet production schedules
*Set and program production machinery to the appropriate procedures in a safe and timely manner to relevant plans
*Fault finding to equipment and processes
*Plan and carry out routine preventative maintenance
Education and/or Experience:
*Qualifications relevant to the position.
*Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing/maintenance of machining fixtures for the automotive industry
*High volume OEM automotive casting manufacturing experience is desired
*A working and technical knowledge of customer specific requirements/procedures, GDT, SPC, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, QS 9000 and other tools used as required
