Reporting to: Head of Trade

Channel Planner Role Overview:

> Ensure Channel sales plans achieve most profitable route to market and meet the individual Channel KPI’s.
> To approve all broadcast and online schedules based on departmental guidelines, financial targets, and sales analysis.
> Ensure that company financial and stock KPIs are met across specific divisions, platforms, and channel.
> Attend range review and sign off meetings with senior management teams for all product categories.

Channel Planner Key Deliverables:

> Develop and manage Assistant Channel Planner and Planners against team and individual KPI’s
> Meet with Head of Trade, Merchandising and Buying teams to review weekly, daily and mid-day sales to create and influence scheduling actions related to company performance
> Develop schedules and themes by category for key events in promotional calendar
> Liaise with the Buyers and Merchandisers and react to problems that may affect the allocation of stock
> Attend visits to the gallery to view output, monitor and analyse daily sales results regarding platform, channel, category and individual product lines, identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
> Highlight any issues that may have an adverse affect on meeting financial targets and or deadlines and make recommendations for improvements
> Attend stock and sales meetings with the Buyers and Merchandisers
> Ensure data integrity is maintained to facilitate accurate scheduling across all platforms
> Coordinate and chair the weekly Planning meeting to present sales results, departmental, and company updates
> Ensure scheduling guidelines are updated so team have reliable records of previous actions and results
> Develop promotional activities (i.e. Deal of the Day, web promotions)
> Problem solve and action any issues highlighted by the Planning team that may have an adverse affect on company performance
> Update and manage cross-departmental documents for all areas of the business
> Identify improvements and upgrade suggestions to database systems and administrative tasks, and test database systems during software upgrades
> Create test scripts and implement new system development, working closely with IS and other functions across the business
> Ensure that departmental timelines and deadlines are achieved

Channel Planner Required Skills and Experience:


> Ability to lead, develop and motivate a team to success
> Educated to degree level or equivalent
> Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Microsoft Excel)
> Eye for detail
> Strong commercial and analytical skills
> Innovative thinker
> Calm under pressure
> Delivering to deadlines with the ability to prioritise
> Adaptable with strong experience of managing complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders
