This high-performing Catholic school is seeking an experienced Religious Education Teacher with a real passion for Religious Education - they have a strong and supportive humanities department and feedback from teachers there is excellent.
My client seeks someone who can deliver engaging lessons in Religious Education at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level.

A modern Catholic Secondary School located close to good transport links is looking for an experienced and creative Religious Education Teacher to join the successful and popular humanities department.
The department has been rated as outstanding, creative and motivated and consists of a good mix of experienced and younger teachers. They have excellent facilities and good classroom sizes which are extremely well resourced with dedicated classroom support in most classes.
Pupils come from a range of social and cultural backgrounds and although the ethos of the school is Catholic a percentage of their learners have other faiths and enjoy the curriculum the department offers. Behaviour is considered to be good at the school but, some lessons can be lively so good classroom management is a must.
The opportunity of career progression is available for committed and enthusiastic teachers, who can make a real difference to the provision of learning within the school.
The successful candidate will:
- Be qualified with QTS - applicants without Qualified Teacher Status cannot be considered
- Excellent subject knowledge - demonstrated by degree.
- Have strong classroom management and an on-going commitment to Continuing Professional Development
- Excellent organisation and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of National Curriculum RE specifications
- Previous experience of teaching RE at GCSE
- A passion for teaching and a genuine desire to help students of all backgrounds succeed
- A track record of effective teaching as evidenced by previous results
- relevant ICT skills
- The willingness to develop teaching skills, working as a team player and sharing best practice
- A willingness to be involved in the wider school community and extra-curricular activities
In line with our recruitment and safeguarding guidelines we will require a current CRB or you will be willing to complete a new application, you will be able to provide referee details and you will be eligible to work in the UK with a valid teaching qualification - applicants must have QTS.
These include:
- PGCE (Postgraduate certificate of education) inc. QTS
- GTP with QTS
- BEd with QTS
You may also hold a valid teaching qualification from overseas (e.g New Zealand/Australia) that has been assessed by UK Naric and have either gained your QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or be within your 4 year limit.
