CAD Design & Production Engineer

My Mechanical Engineering client based in Aylesbury is looking to recruit a CAD Design & Production Engineer on a full time permanent basis.

Working closely with Design, Sales & Manufacturing personnel, your main duties will include:

• Creating working designs, modelled and drawn to enable manufacturing
• Liaise with all company personnel, particularly the Sales team and external customers, CNC programmers & quality departments
• Understand the technical aspects of the products (with full training) to therefore act as technical support when required for the Sales & Marketing team
• Visiting customers to discuss projects (this may involve overseas travel)
• Some programming of prototypes
• Design and develop new products and systems

Traditionally my client is a precision mechanical engineering company, however they have developed various systems that use electrical or electronic components so knowledge of both mechanical and some electronic engineering would be beneficial although predominately this is a mechanical design role.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Practical CNC experience (Milling and/or Turning)
• 3D CAD experience (ideally AutoCAD LT but certainly not essential)
• Posses the ability to sketch 3D by hand (advantageous)

My client is fully prepared to offer full software training for the right candidate. The successful candidate will posses the ability to interpret the requirements and produce cost effective designs that can be created and manufactured within the time scales and costs agreed on the order.
