We require a Software Engineer for a fantastic company based in Farnborough Hampshire (relocation package available). The right candidate will have excellent C and C++ software development skills, and ideally around 2 to 5 years experience.

The right candidate will preferably have knowledge or experience of Smartphone OS architecture and design and debugging tools and skills for embedded systems.

The role entails development of software in C and C++ to support the full suite of NFC protocols. Direct knowledge of NFC protocols would be very welcome but not essential. Ability to learn and train in these technologies will be crucial.

It is important to note that although NFC and Smartphone technologies would be very welcome, a solid background or knowledge of C C++ with the ability to move into new areas is as important.

The successful candidate will receive direction from, and be responsible to, a technical lead, and will have day to day responsibility for documentation, implementation, unit test and debugging of specified individual modules of companies NFC solution.

A love of the craft of software engineering and a good understanding of the principles of device driver development and/or embedded development is essential. We are looking for an engineer who is highly self-motivated, and who will thrive in a relatively small and focused team environment.

Desirable skills include:

Solid proficiency in C and/or C++.
Knowledge or experience of Smartphone OS architecture and design.
Debugging tools and skills for embedded systems.
Ability to absorb and understand complex specifications quickly.
Knowledge of a scripting language with a slight preference for Python.
Knowledge of or demonstrable interest in NFC and mobile security technologies.
Strong social and collaborative engineering skills.
